Olivier Juteau Master Glass Maker
- Master Glass Maker with over thirty years experience in the practice of the arts and techniques of glass making. Glass engineering, restoration works and repairs of the glass heritage, creations on mesure inn glass or crystal, trainings of master glass makers :
- Born in 1955, he grew up in Ile de France in a house cum workshop where his parents practised the art of stained glass, mosaic, enamel and tapestry.
- From 1971 to 1974, he learned and developed the techniques of glass making and studied its physical-chemical aspects at the glass technical school of Yzeure. At the same time, he attended evening classes in graphic arts and anatomical drawing at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts de Moulins.
- In April 1976, along with a partner graduating from the same glass school, he created a glass blowing studio in Mâcon. This studio, among the very first in France to feature in the “French Studio Glass Movement”, produced coloured dishes and decorative items over a period of three years.
- In 1979, he left Mâcon and opened a new workshop in Daumeray in Anjou. This workshop, more spacious and better equipped, enabled him to experiment with all the possible techniques of his craft.
- Since 1992, in his troglodytic workshops, embedded in the limestone cliffs on the banks of the river Seine within the Vexin Nature Park, he has been able to dedicate to his art all the glass techniques and know-how acquired over thirty years of varied experience and practice as a glass artist.
- He contributes to the boards of several associations supporting art professions, glass professions and training such as:
La Maison des Métiers d’Arts Français (MMAF), Association pour le Développement et la Création Artistique en Verre (ADCAV), Centre International de Recherche du Verre Artistique (CIRVA), Le Musée-Atelier du Verre de Sars-Poteries, Le Centre Européen de Recherches et de Formation aux Arts du Verre (CERFAV).
- He has been a member of the Salon des Artistes Décorateurs, the Salon d’Automne and was appointed as commissaire départemental de la Société d’Encouragement aux Métiers d’Arts (SEMA).
